Wonderful that you made this website. Tinuviel is my favorite name in all of Tolkien's books. This is even what I named my first daughter. My other daughters name is Earendel. Every one is always amazed by their names and nobody ever recognizes where they came from. You have made a beautiful site and look forward to showing this to my daughter . I love your site about Luthien! I read in David Colbert's book ,"The Magical Worlds of The Lord of the Rings", that Tolkien had the inspiration for Luthien's character in 1917. He was a soldier fighting on the Western Front, and when he came back to see his wife, they would spend their time in the countryside, and he sat mesmerised on the ground as his wife danced and sang for him. I thought you might want to add this to your site. 7 August 2006 Webmaster comments   Tolkien also stylized himself as Beren, his wife Edith as Lúthien. These names are even engraved on their headstones! Thanks for the info! Lúthien
